The Resources Used In This Journey

In this section, I just wanted to give some recognition to the different resources I used to make this happen. I know there will be some I miss, and I will update this section as needed, but these are the resources that helped make this site a reality. Whether it was portraits for the characters or the text for the story titles, I want to express my thanks to the hard-working teams that created these tools.

Resoruces Used

I am not affiliated with any of the below software and just want to give recognition to those who deserve it.

Software Used

First and foremost, I would like to thank World Anvil for making such an amazing site. This site helps push me back into world-building and writing, even if I did get sidetracked because of it. It also got me back into my love of web design that I let wilt in the closet after college. They have an amazing thing going on here and I recommend anyone interested in world-building to investigate it.

  • WordPress.Org – I think this one is obvious seeing as you are on it right now 😁. It is a great platform to build a website on and create something unique.
  • World Anvil – A wonderful resource for authors, world builders, or people looking for a great place to build game campaigns. Check if out if you have not before. This site is what made me want to create this site.
  • A2Hosting – The hosting platform used for this site. It has been fast and reliable thus far 🤞
  • Canva – Most of my Title Images and dividers have been edited in this software. It is easy to use and has some powerful tools.
  • Gimp editor – I used gimp to edit most of the covers I used (unless they are the original designs). It is a great free software for those interested.
  • Portrait Workshop is the amazing program I am using for my character portraits. I love the art style and ease of editing if you need to. (Klyuda  took a little bit of after-work haha)
  • WonderDraft – Nice easy-to-use map-making software that creates some beautiful maps.
  • DungeonDraft – An equally great dungeon map maker
  • Watabou – This site generates some awesome cities. (you can adjust them some with the tools to make them more how you want also)
  • CoolText– If you want some nice generated texts
  • yEd-Live  – While not something the frontend reader will see, I use this tool to build the diagrams of how my worlds connect.
  • Microsoft 365 – I use this for most of my writing and note-keeping. I feel like everyone knows what this is already 😅 (I am drafting this page in word right now)

A huge thank you to the talented people who made the resources and assets I used to make my maps, images, and drawings.

Resources

  • Copilot – Used for a lot of the AI images (noted where used). As well as for some sentence reworks and checks (only rewordings never full sentience generations).
  • W3schools – If you want to learn a computer language they are great. They really helped refresh me on things.
  • Dictionary.com – I mean I hope I’m not the only one using this it 😁
